AMA Relations Chair Position Available

Want leadership experience within PSMA? Want to network with other members of the American Marketing Association (AMA) nationwide? 

Apply for the AMA Relations Chair position now! 

Position: AMA Relations Chair 
Roles and responsibility: 
  • Assist PSMA's President, Sanjana Roy, with developing and maintaining relationships with AMA Collegiate and Professional chapters
  • Act as liaison between PSMA, AMA and other collegiate and professional chapters 
  • Coordinate planning and logistics of AMA programs (eg. AMA Certificate Programs, Website competition etc) 
  • Plan and implement mentorship program with other AMA Collegiate Chapters 
Requirements: 
  • Applicants must have been involved in PSMA for at least 1 semester 
  • Have a good understand of AMA and it's role within PSMA's operations 
  • Be able to devote 7-10 hours a week to the position
  • Be detail oriented and organized

  • Network with AMA staff and leaders of other collegiate chapters 
  • Gain experience with professional development and event planning (potential for leadership position on PSMA executive board next year)

BP Trading Simulation

Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th from 8:00 pm -10:00 respectively in the Rogers Family Trading Room in the Business Building.

CPG Camp

CPG Camp is an online boot camp that teaches highly relevant, real-world marketing and brand management skills.  It was designed by senior marketers for the purpose of creating a community of cutting-edge marketing professionals.  CPG Camp works by simulating the day-to-day activities of marketers from the largest Consumer Packaged Goods companies in the world.  The training is all online, self-paced, and can be taken anytime of the day.

J&J Interactive Marketing Competition

Following the marketing career fair, J&J will be hosting an interactive marketing competition! This competition will take place September 17th in 002 Business at 8PM. During this event, you will receive insight into the roles available for marketers at J&J, as well as the "day in the life experience" where students will participate in some fun events testing consumer insights, understanding trade programs and learning how to use analytics in a marketing role. There will also be fun prizes and food!

Members will receive 1 professional development point for attending and you will have the opportunity to learn more about J&J marketing careers and get face time with the recruiting team!

Since 2010, PSMA has held its own AMA Regional Conference every year to provide students from Penn State and other chapters of the American Marketing Association with an easy and open opportunity to listen to business leaders’ perspectives on a wide array of current issues in marketing.  This year's conference theme will be “Ride the Digital Wave in Marketing” and will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 9am – 3pm in the Penn State University Park Forest Resources Building. 

The guest speakers will include Heather A. James, a previous Chief Marketing Officer of the Advertising Research Foundation, Brendan O'Donovan of Vocus, and David Koerner of 3M.

PLS Campus Ambassador Opportunity


PLS Logistics Services is looking for a PSMA member who might be interested in working with PLS this semester as a Campus Ambassador. They are launching the program for the Fall semester and it would be either a Junior or Senior looking to gain some experience by assisting with on campus events and building the PLS brand on campus.  It would be for 10 hours a week doing such tasks as conducting information tables, presenting in classrooms, putting up flyers on campus, attending events with PLS, and general networking.  Any materials needed for recruitment and training purposes will be supplied.
