A recruiter from a small marketing company in Pittsburgh, Nakturnal is reaching out to PSMA members specifically! They are an experiential marketing firm and mostly work on brand experiences for their clients.

They are looking to hire students as Brand Ambassadors for a social app launching in State College this month. Many marketing departments hire brand ambassadors to represent their product or service in the public, so this is a great opportunity to see a marketing strategy in action.

Peer Educator Opportunity

The Student Financial Education Center (SFEC) is currently looking for dedicated students with an interest in financial literacy to serve as Peer Educators. The SFEC aims to provide personal finance education to students studying at Penn State University Park, as well as presentations on budgeting, forecasting, and general money management for clubs and organizations.  

Prospective peer educators will undergo comprehensive training in the topics of budgeting, credit, and student loans, and will be certified to hold office hours in the SFEC office (309 Paterno Library) every week, and as well as develop and present seminars to classes and student groups.

Peer Educator training occurs on a rolling basis, and students can begin the process at any time during the semester. Any student who is currently a freshmen, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply to serve as a Peer Educator. Focus Group

A regional financial service provider is seeking students to participate in a 2-hour focus group to discuss personal banking services.

-Two focus groups will be held, with 10 student participants in each group.
-Students should be willing to discuss their views in a group session.
-The topics are general in nature and students will not be asked about their personal finances.
-Participants will be awarded $25 in cash for their participation immediately following the session.
-The focus groups will be held on campus on Tuesday, March 3, at 3pm and 6pm.

Marketing in the Digital Era Conference

  • Carnegie Mellon is hosting their 5th annual regional conference with a focus on Digital Marketing
  • This is a great opportunity to gain professional development (and earn 2 PD points) and network with other AMA members as well as companies like Zipcar, Unilever, and UPMC.
  • The conference will take place on Saturday, February 28th on Carnegie Mellon’s campus in Pittsburgh. 
  • PSMA will pay for your registration and travel, however accommodation is your responsibility (if you’re from the Pittsburg area this is a great opportunity for you!).  If some people want to pitch in and stay at an affordable hotel, that works too.

BP Discovery Days

BP's leadership programs are designed for driven students who want to build real-world skills before graduation.
