Guest Speaker: Khalid Alameri

The Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Business Society is a student-run organization dedicated to representing and sharing the economic interests and professional opportunities of the MENA region with the Penn State community. MENA will be hosting Khalid Alameri to launch its first guest speaker series.

Date: Sunday, November 2, 2014
Time: 7PM (Doors open at 6:30PM)
Location: The HUB Auditorium 

Alameri is an MBA graduate from Stanford Graduate School of Business; a columnist for The National, an English-language newspaper in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE; a TEDx speaker; and a senior associate in asset management and investments at Mubadala Development Company. He is also the co-founder of the beverages and food company Slices. Alameri’s notable career and background has made one of the most popular and engaging presenters in the UAE. His deep understanding of the twenty-first century youth and ways in which to reach their attentiveness, enable his audiences to achieve a clearer and deeper understanding of the meaning “success.”  He answers questions related to the measurement of one’s own success as well as how education can affect and therefore open doors of opportunity in one’s life.

The event is free to all University Park students and faculty.

Simple Car Wash Campus Ambassador


Simple Car Wash is looking for Penn State students to join our team! We are a waterless car cleaning service that goes directly to the customer and are hiring students to help us generate our brand awareness and sales in State College.

WHAT IS A CAMPUS SALES GURU?
Plain and simple, a guru is a Simple Car Wash campus rep. As a guru, you are the face of our company at Penn State. You're well-connected. You're involved on campus. You know a good time when you see one.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
You connect us with potential customers. It's easy! In a fraternity or sorority? On a sports team? Have friends? (We know you do...) All you have to do is use the people you know to connect on campus, spread the word, and make some sales.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
We are well aware that all college students looking for jobs tend to want 2 things: extra spending money and something to put on their resumé. Gurus make commission and get marketing and sales experience. Looks like a win-win. And there's always bonuses and swag.

Campus Internship Opportunity


Retail Therapy for Charity, a telecommunications-sales company, is looking for PSMA members for an internship opportunity! RTFC is looking for highly-motivated, socially-conscious students to serve as marketing and sales interns on college campuses. Student interns will be expected to build professional relationships with local non-profit and campus organizations. Students interns will help organizations creatively fundraise and achieve their goals. By working closely with local groups, student interns will hone sales, marketing and communications skills. Successful interns will be introduced to various industries, gain real world experience and earn commissions for their work.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what does your professional photo say about you? Many students use selfies, photos of themselves cropped out for a group shot, or even their school ID as their important professional profile shot. Since recruiters spend 19% of their time on your online profile looking at your picture. Your picture plays a big role in how you present yourself.

You need a professional profile photo for your LinkedIn and other professional sites.

Officers of the newly formed Penn State student chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators asked Akash Ghai of the PSU chapter of the National Press Photographer's Association to lend his expertise to take professional photos for students.

The cost is $5. (cash only)

In-Field Promotional Staffing is currently hiring 12 outgoing and reliable Penn State students to work as Brand Ambassadors, representing Hyundai at this Saturday's game. Hyundai is sponsoring a tailgating events to promote their newest fuel-efficient and stylish models. Brand Ambassadors will engage fans and create a fun and exciting atmosphere for them. Activation includes social media interaction, a "QB" toss game, free t-shirts and food.

Job Requirements:
